Feel as if you’ve exhausted all the solutions IKEA can provide for your home? Okay.. neither do we, but we’re always on the lookout for exciting new Scandi brands and design houses!

‘Muuto’ is a design company determined to embody Scandinavian design, combining the craftsmanship, functionality and aesthetics that drive the design style forward. Muuto translates as ‘New Perspective’ and the company is made up of an elite group of contemporary designers; Including Claesson Koivisto Rune, Anne Jørgensen, TAF Architects and Andreas Engesvik. Focused on collaborating to create only the best Scandinavian interior pieces,  Muuto’s products successfully represent  the clean cut, simple design of Scandinavia.

We’ve picked a few favourites from their catalogue, although we really were spoilt for choice! The ‘Airy’ table by Cecile Manz is effortlessly well-designed, with thin frames and a clean cut silhouette. They’re available in different sizes, as side tables, coffee tables or bedside tables. Cecile Manz is quoted on Muuto.com, explaining how her table series ‘masters the fine balance between being light and airy, and at the same time (has) plenty of personality and individuality’.

Not only confined to furniture, Muuto has a collection of soft furnishings and home accessories, too. We love the ‘Shades’ bowls and vases from Anne Jørgensen’s ceramic collection and the ‘Loom’ hand woven throw by Simon Key Bertman, who describes his piece as ‘softness, colourful structure and craftsmanship – all woven together’.

Go on and check out their website, we’re busy writing a wish-list!
