Whether you are looking for a light and airy feel or a rather dramatic and masculine look, Blue is the colour you need. ‘Borrowed Light‘ from F&B, a subtle shade of Blue, will help you create a calm and harmonious atmosphere. By combining it with textiles in a palette of whites and light greys (picture 2), you will add to the peaceful look. Alternatively combine it with bright and colourful textiles (picture 1), using the pale blue as a tinted blank canvas, and you will achieve a more fun and playful feel.

If it is a more dramatic look you are after, then F&B’s ‘Hague Blue‘ will help you get there. Using a brilliant white for the woodwork will accentuate the bold colour and add to the elegant look. Why not add lots of different-sized prints in frames in shades of white and pale gold (picture 5)? This will add a stylish and homely feel to your room.

A population not to undervalue the colour were the Egyptians as they associated Blue with the sky and divinity. They also believed it could protect against evil.

Perhaps living in Blue is what we need?…
